OSHP says the person was driving in a discipline when he tried to cross State Route 15 and was struck by the truck.
NEY, Ohio – An 89-year-old man was taken to the hospital after the SUV he was driving was hit by a pickup truck on State Route 15 in Defiance County.
Based on the Ohio State Freeway Patrol, the Lowell Crites was driving by a discipline about 2 miles north of Ney when he tried to cross State Route 15.
A pickup truck driving south on State Route 15 by Timothy Kinder, 43, struck the blade of the Crites Kubota utility automobile and knocked Crites out of the automobile.
Mr. Kinder’s truck then went off the highway and hit a mailbox earlier than stopping in a yard.
Crites was taken to Defiance Hospital with severe accidents earlier than being transferred to Toledo Promedica Hospital.
OSHP says that Mr. Crites didn’t give in when he tried to cross the road and was not carrying his seat belt.
The accident stays beneath investigation.
