E tū has joined Minister of Foreign Affairs of New Zealand, international unions and others in condemning the arrest this week of greater than 50 distinguished Hong Kong pro-democracy activists.
Amongst these arrested was aviation employee Carol Ng, chairwoman of the Hong Kong Council of Commerce Unions and former common secretary of the Worldwide Cabin Crew Affiliation of British Airways Hong Kong. E tū spokesman Sam Huggard says the union extends its solidarity to Carol and different union and democratic activists.
