Ivy Tech Neighborhood School – Columbus provides a brand new member to its eight-member board.
The faculty introduced that Chris Hoke, superintendent of the Northwest Consolidated Faculty District in Shelby County, has been appointed to the Columbus Service Space Campus Board.
The board’s tasks embody approving the campus finances and “serving as a supporter of scholars and the neighborhood.” Hoke will symbolize Shelby County, which is included within the Columbus service space, which additionally serves Bartholomew, Decatur, Jackson, Jennings and Johnson counties.

Hoke has served as superintendent of Northwestern Consolidated Colleges for seven years and has over 20 years of training expertise. Previous to that, he labored as a mechanical engineer.
His training features a bachelor’s diploma in mechanical engineering from Purdue College, a grasp’s diploma in secondary training from Ball State College and a bachelor’s diploma in training from Indiana State College.
Hoke is a former president of the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce and a volunteer for Benefit Shelby County, a two-year scholarship program “particularly geared toward elevating training and coaching.”
Benefit Shelby County is a partnership between Shelbyville, Shelby County and Ivy Tech. This system offers scholarships to Shelby County college students to cowl tuition prices that aren’t lined by state, federal or institutional support.
