Queen will launch a never-before-heard tune that includes vocals recorded by late frontman Freddie Mercury.
The surviving members of the band found the tune of their archives and it dates again to ‘The Miracle’ recording periods throughout which they recorded round 30 tracks for the 1989 album, a lot of which had been by no means launched.
Talking to Zoe Ball on BBC Radio 2 over the weekend (04.06.22-05.06.22), drummer Roger Taylor defined: “We discovered a little bit gem from Freddie, which we had forgotten about. And it was. It is great. . It was an actual discover, really. It is from ‘The Miracle’ periods, and I feel it is popping out in September.”
Host Zoe then requested, “That is superb. It all the time amazes me how one can lose a little bit gem like that. And while you discover it once more, who actually discovered it?”
Guitarist Brian Might responded: “It was hidden in plain sight. We checked out it many occasions and thought, ‘Oh no, we actually cannot salvage that.’ However we really went again in there and our great engineering crew mentioned: ‘ Okay, we will do that and this.’ It is like placing components collectively.”
Brian later added concerning the tune: “It is stunning. It is touching.”
Roger continued: “It is a very thrilling piece.”
Freddie died in 1991 after affected by AIDS-related problems. The band has continued to tour with vocalists Paul Rodgers and Adam Lambert.
The interview with the band befell through the BBC’s protection of Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, which befell over a four-day financial institution vacation weekend.
