JEFFERSON — The Jefferson Historic Society will host a show of metallic sculptures by John Jackson from 1-5 pm on August 6-7 and 13-14 at Judd Corridor at 163 Essential St. in Jefferson. A reception will serve to mark the opening of the present at 7 pm on Friday, August 5.
Based on a press launch, Corridor is described as a whimsical metallic sculptor, in addition to a humor therapist, recycler, prophet, political satirist, and haiku aficionado. He has been creating sculptures for greater than 35 years.
His sculptural palette is primarily comprised of bicycle and bike components, aged musical devices, vintage instruments, and flea market spikes.

COOPERSTOWN — Smithy Gallery at 55 Pioneer St. in Cooperstown will host a gap reception for the “Enlightenment” exhibition from 5 to 7 pm on Tuesday, August 9.
“Illustration”, the third and closing exhibition of the season, shall be on show from August 9 to September three, on the primary and second flooring.
Based on a press launch, the art work, members, and visitor artists taking part within the exhibition will interpret the storytelling mode’s exploration of conventional, digital, and modern media. Illustration is described as a department of artwork that emerged centuries in the past within the service of storytelling and the printed phrase. The primary manuscripts and books wanted visible photos supplied by artists.
