As a part of the Brexit Withdrawal Settlement, British residents in Portugal had been assured the safety of their social and labor rights and needed to alternate EU residence paperwork for a biometric residence allow.
Greater than 34,500 Britons are completely resident in Portugal and have been detained at airports, paying for fracture therapy or prone to shedding their jobs resulting from delays in acquiring a biometric card.
As a substitute, a brief doc and QR code was issued, which Britons say is just not acknowledged domestically or at worldwide borders.

SEF stated in a press release: “The present residence paperwork of UK nationals residing in Portugal will proceed to be accepted after the top of the transition interval and till the brand new residence card is issued.”
