James Wetzel, 78, of Martins Ferry, handed away peacefully on August eight, 2022, at The Good Shepherd Nursing Dwelling in Wheeling.
He was born June four, 1944, in Wheeling, the son of the late James H. and Mary Regina (Fitzsimmons) Wetzel.
He was retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Metal Company-Yorkville Plant with 47 years of service.
Jim was a member of St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church in Colerain, a veteran of the Vietnam battle.
He was a die-hard Notre Dame fan and cherished greater than something to be along with his grandchildren watching them develop up and play sports activities.
Along with his mother and father, he was preceded in dying by his loving spouse Betty Ann (Romish) Wetzel, a brother Joe Wetzel, a sister-in-law Susan Wetzel and grandchildren Michael, David and Dan Wetzel.
Surviving are his daughter, Michelle (Jimmy) Edwards of Martins Ferry and grandchildren; James (fiancé Hunter Gust), Megan (fiancé Casey Byrum) and Jordan Edwards, sister-in-law Joann Wetzel, brother Paul (Janine) Wetzel, Tom Wetzel, Marty (Carol) Wetzel and plenty of nieces and nephews.
Mates could name Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 5:00 PM to eight:00 PM at Wilson Funeral Dwelling, 920 Nationwide Rd., Brookside. Mass of Christian Burial will likely be held Friday, August 12, at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church in Colerain with Fr. Thomas Chillog officiating, interment to observe in Linwood Cemetery, full army honors will likely be accorded by the Belmont County Veterans Affiliation.
