han uirim: a contemporary mountain home by associations 100a
Outdoors South Koreathe northern metropolis of Chuncheon-Si, nestled in a valley under its looming mountains, this Uirim inn is constructed with a minimalist and up to date design of Associations 100A. Regardless of his introverted wall-like expression concrete citadel, the mission marks a heat and welcoming cease for visitors touring by the countryside. The structure is split into two volumes – one everlasting, year-round keep for the host, and the opposite dwellings two visitor flats. Thus, the place is an intimate refuge in nature, making certain privateness secluded from the valley, whereas opening onto the wooded hillside behind its low walled gardens.

The architects The staff at 100A Associates constructed the inn as a comforting respite for all vacationers, recapturing the sights and smells of the forest with its heat wood interiors flooded with tree-filtered daylight. The reddish wooden of the interiors contrasts the constructing’s concrete envelope and rusted metal particulars to emphasise its heat and connection to the pure context. Every bed room opens broad to its personal personal backyard by a wall of full-height glass and sliding glass doorways, embracing the tranquility of the forest with its chestnut bushes.
The staff illustrates the poetic idea behind the structure: ‘An exceptionally vibrant chestnut tree stood as if it owned the land. The forest traveler humbly accepted it, and the chestnut gave him the consolation of silence. That is how the Uirim inn sat beneath such a phenomenal and peaceable chestnut tree.’
