OTTAWA – Famend Canadian writer Margaret Atwood has acquired a excessive honor from the French Ministry of Tradition for her contributions to literature.
Atwood was named commander of the French Order of Arts and Letters, which awards individuals who have distinguished themselves in inventive or literary fields.
French Ambassador to Canada Michel Miraillet introduced the medal to Atwood on Wednesday in a ceremony on the French embassy in Ottawa.
