The rise of distant work in recent times has led Amsterdam-based designer Robert van Embricqs to rethink how standard workplaces would influence the ambiance of a house. He needed to ask “the person to fold that desk when the work is finished” and created a now-viral piece that seamlessly transitions from desk to paintings.
Constructed with heat wooden and brass hinges, the ‘Move Wall Desk’ options aligned vertical slats that twist and unfold right into a desk. The small piece of furnishings, which might help about 40 kilos, is aesthetically minimal and mimics natural actions because it unfolds from elegant reduction to useful area.
Discover the desk and different modular designs in van Embricqs’ store and comply with his work on Instagram. (by way of hyperallergic)
