The pedestrian concerned within the Centennial Neighborhood crash is recognized as Penny A. Griffith, 68, of Portland. Her household has been notified of her loss of life.
Preliminary investigation means that Griffith was crossing Southeast Division Road strolling south. The car concerned was a Chevrolet Suburban touring eastbound. The motive force remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation. The accident stays underneath investigation. No arrests have been made.
That is the second deadly visitors accident of 2023 in Portland.

A pedestrian was killed after a single-vehicle crash within the Centennial neighborhood, and a bit of Southeast Division Road is closed for the investigation.
On Friday, January 6, 2023 at 5:18 pm, East Precinct officers responded to a report of an accident at Southeast Division Road and Southeast 168 Avenue. After they arrived with medical groups, they discovered that the accident concerned a pedestrian and a car driver. The pedestrian, an grownup feminine, was evaluated by paramedics and it was confirmed that she had died on the scene. The motive force of the car remained on the scene.
The Portland Police Visitors Division Main Crash Crew is responding to the scene to analyze the crash. Throughout the investigation, Southeast Division Road is closed between Southeast 166 Avenue and Southeast 174 Avenue.
