Guests window-shopping alongside Amsterdam’s well-known PC Hooftstraat are greeted by a shocking, technologically superior new facade by Studio RAP. Utilizing customized 3D printers, the agency designed white and brick-colored ceramic tiles that ripple throughout the floor, mixing historic architectural kinds with modern design.
On the primary flooring, mother-of-pearl items catch your eye at eye degree, and on the higher flooring, three shades of purple mirror the unique criss-cross, or brick association. A laser-cut metal body completely aligns with the contour of the blocks, its steel edges getting used as a high-tech reference to the unique joints or mortar.
Studio RAP created delicate curves and pleated particulars as a nod to sew patterns and knitted textiles, responding to the operate of the boutique constructing and making a playful pressure between onerous constructing supplies and associations with softness and adaptability.
