STREET. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Division of Agriculture has awarded $three.53 million in Native Meals Buy Help (LFPA) grants to 33 organizations, native models of presidency and tribal nations throughout the state.
In Southeast Minnesota, LFPA grants will go to The Village Agriculture Cooperative and Southeast Minnesota Meals Rescue and Redistribution, each in Rochester, and to the Purple Wing Space Meals Shelf and the Purple Wing Farmers' Market Affiliation, Inc.
LFPA funds go to tasks that buy native meals primarily from socially deprived farmers and distribute them for gratis to underserved communities. Within the first spherical of grants, MDA obtained 50 proposals asking for about $5.9 million.
MDA is accepting purposes for a second spherical of LFPA program grants. Functions will probably be accepted till Might 20. Candidates can apply for between $20,000 and $125,000, and MDA anticipates awarding roughly $three.1 million on this second spherical.
