In “Fitting,” director Caitlin McMullan shares a sensitive moment at a doctor's office. Sitting on an exam table, she talks to Alison Morton, who is carefully shaping a cast around McMullan's thigh and knee to create a prosthesis. The short film follows the pair, focusing on the lower appendages as Morton measures, molds and smoothes a pattern that will help shape a new limb. As McMullan tries on the leg and shares how her body is formed, she offers a unique insight into the meticulous science behind the healthcare fitting process, along with the special intimacy between a prosthetist and a patient.
