In Oviedo, Spain, a 6,000-square-meter set up of emergency metallic blankets is reworking a former weapons manufacturing facility this month. “Blankets 2” expands on Spanish artist SpY's sequence of monumental kinetic works (beforehand).
Pure mild from the constructing's first-floor home windows and from the large clerestory bounces off the folds of a whole bunch of blankets, shining gold on one aspect and silver on the opposite. Documented with water on the ground, the reflection mirrors the suspended matrix, creating a way of extra depth and openness.
The artist facilities the dialogue between location and theme in “Blankets 2” and attracts consideration to the constructing's historical past as a weapons producer by filling it with objects meant inversely for therapy and medical care.
SpY is fascinated by sensory notion and the way easy objects could be remodeled via repetition, mild, scale and distinction. Air circulate via the area provides delicate motion to the panels, producing a mild rustling noise that accompanies viewers via the exhibition
