Teahupo'o, a village positioned on the southeast coast of Tahiti, boasts a shallow and steep coral reef system that creates a singular surf break leading to a few of the largest waves on Earth. These robust, highly effective waves entice surfers from all around the world, together with photographer Tim McKenna.
From a younger age, McKenna surfed the west coasts of France and later in Australia. He’s deeply fascinated by the facility of the ocean and its fixed modifications of temper from serene ripples to towering waves. The photographer started documenting waves whereas driving their uneven actions and finally settled in Teahupo'o, the place he has lived for greater than 20 years.
