Manuel Alvarez Diestro's city photograph installations
Visible artist Manuel Alvarez Diestro paperwork the streets and squares of Bilbao and Santander with pictures of vertical buildings in Asia and the Center East. These embrace photos from cities in South Korea, Mainland China/Hong Kongand Qatarwith works from sequence introduced in designboom, comparable to the development of recent cities in South Korea, Chongqing, South Korean countrysideand Bridges of Seoul. Diestro's fundamental goal is to create a connection between Asian megalopolises and smaller cities in northern Spain.

In Bilbao, Alvarez Diestro has wallpapered a transport container with a photograph of the town's latest vertical housing developments, drawing a parallel to the towering buildings of Asian capitals. Photographing his works after they had been put in in public areas, the artist captured the interplay of photos with native structure and passers-by. This course of launched a brand new layer to the undertaking – photographing present photos of their city setting – making a collage-like impact by juxtaposition.
A number of the displayed photos have been altered by graffiti or promoting, which has added a brand new dimension to the work. These spontaneous interventions offered a contemporary type of expression, giving the images a lifetime of their very own. This initiative is a part of the “Arte Pedestrian” exhibition, curated by Arancha Vidal, with the assist of the Council of Bilbao and the town of Santander.
