Performed by Tonia Daley-Campbell, Miss Ida is a retired nurse who has spent her life advocating for well being and wellness.
The character is worried about “disparities in well being care amongst older folks, notably these in African and Caribbean communities,” Ladies & Theater stated.
Joan Blaney, chief govt of the inspiration, stated: “We met a gaggle of black males in Wolverhampton they usually stated it was the primary time anybody had requested them how they felt about their well being.

Blaney stated she was a nurse herself and “we acknowledged the belief and respect that older nurses have.”

The present premiered as a part of Black Historical past Month on the Heritage Middle in Wolverhampton on 25 October earlier than transferring to the Legacy Middle in Birmingham on 7 November.
The free present will now be at Brasshouse, Smethwick, at 13:00 GMT on Friday and at Shiloh Church in West Bromwich from 18:00.
