At 1/35 scale, Simon Laveuve's (beforehand) miniature builds reveal loads of clues in regards to the absent occupants of every dwelling. From colourful items strung between pillars to framed photos, Laveuve's eccentric buildings seem in a spread of states of use in an imagined post-apocalyptic future.

In “Promesse En Solitaire,” or “solitary promise,” a lately deserted hat on a patio chair means that the forlorn island is usually inhabited. Then again, in “Ici La Paix” (“right here is peace”), a multi-level construction suffers the consequences of time and decay, as moss creeps up the partitions and rebar hangs from the partially demolished flooring.

Laveuve additionally attracts on his personal experiences rising up in Paris, the place many cultures meet. He remembers residing on the sting of the 13th arrondissement, the place Chinese language, Vietnamese, Cambodian and Laotian cultures are current within the outlets and within the kitchen. “With 'Daikichi', I wished to transcribe this legacy,” says the artist. “The Asian Quarter of Paris is a monument in Île-de-France that by no means ceases to encourage me… I intentionally combined genres and cultures to mix shapes, colours and inform this story.”
