The Vatican introduced this on Friday the excommunication of an ultra-conservative Italian archbishop for rejecting the authority of Pope Francis.
Carlo Maria Vigano, 83, who was summoned earlier than the Holy See decide in June, was excommunicated from the Catholic Church for “his refusal to acknowledge and undergo the pope,” the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Religion mentioned in an announcement.
“We’re conscious of their public statements which show the refusal (…) of communion with the members of the Church,” he added.
