UC Berkeley college students who’re a part of Berkeley Scholar Farms donate 50% of their produce to the Berkeley Meals Pantry. (UC Berkeley Video by Stephen McNally)
Based in 2020, Berkeley Scholar Farms (BSF) is a coalition of student-run gardens devoted to giving student-farmers possession of the meals they develop, reconnecting with the indigenous heritage of the land and empowering management, collaboration and studying on the spot. Greater than 50% of its produce is delivered to the UC Berkeley Meals Pantry, which gives emergency meals help to college students and different members of the Cal group. On this video from UC Berkeley Division of Improvement and Alumni Relations videographer, Stephen McNally will hear from pupil leaders, Moe Sumino, sophomore Diego Morales, and Ameia Smith, freshman, about what gardens develop: natural greens, new associates, and a deeper sense of objective.
