STRUTHERS – Pauline A. Shaffer, 92, handed away Wednesday morning, March 24, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Mrs. Shaffer was born on November 1, 1928 in Youngstown, the daughter of Albert and Margaret Markovich Bilkie.
Raised on the East Aspect, Pauline attended her freshman and sophomore years at Ursuline Excessive College, and through her junior and senior years, she transferred to East Excessive College, graduating with the category of 1946.
Pauline, one of many few ladies who grew up within the East Aspect neighborhood, had one of the best reminiscence of enjoying ball with the neighborhood boys and, to this present day, she cherished to play ball and watch sports activities. Pauline’s two finest groups have been the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cleveland Indians. Along with watching her favourite groups, Pauline might at all times be discovered with televisions on in varied rooms, watching all of the sports activities groups, together with tennis and ice skating. Bowling was one other sport that Pauline loved and he or she even labored on the Vacation Bowl in Struthers. Pauline married David J. Shaffer on August 27, 1949, and so they made their house in Struthers. Pauline settled in tame bliss, elevating her two daughters. Along with her dad and mom, Pauline was preceded in dying by her husband, David J. Shaffer; two brothers, John and Michael Nittoli; and his sons-in-law, Tom Wilson and James Neapolitan Jr.
Pauline’s household will welcome their associates on Monday, April 5, 2021, from four to five:45 p.m. M. On the Davidson-Becker Funeral Residence in Struthers, the place a celebration of his life will comply with at 6 p.m. M.
