GLASGOW, Ky. – A pandemic-era development continues to be going robust for a neighborhood hospital.
Touring nurses have been a wanted useful resource through the pandemic, and now some 30 touring nurses proceed to fill the void at TJ Samson Hospital.
The demand for journey nurses exploded as hospital workers suffered burnout and shortages on the peak of the Covid pandemic. In 2020 alone, itinerant nursing demand grew 35 p.c from the earlier 12 months.
TJ Regional Nursing Director Brandon Dickey stated, “We see them as our TJ workers, and our sufferers as effectively. Fortuitously, they’ve embraced that mindset, so it has been an amazing relationship, and that hasn’t all the time been the case with vacationers.”
Dickey says that regardless of the common journey nurse contract of 13 weeks, many have stayed with regional TJ for greater than a 12 months.
