Cradled in wood bins, leaves, flowers, animals and the occasional piece of human anatomy type the dense topographies of Melis Buyruk (beforehand). The Turkish artist combines varied natural parts into sprawling, monochromatic porcelain works which can be fascinating in complexity with barely unearthly undertones. In a number of current works, corresponding to “Blooming Gentle” and “Golden Bloom,” for instance, a single ear seems amongst moss and foliage, embedding the fragmented a part of the human physique within the largely floral ecosystem.
