Within the ongoing collection Embroidered orders, Alicja Kozlowska interprets mass-produced Pop Artwork into tightly stitched sculptures. The Polish artist sews packages of half-eaten Oreos and cookies, rusted cans with peeling tops, and 12-packs of Coca-Cola on a big scale, recreating the recognizable logos and patterns of ubiquitous snacks and items. Every work begins with a felt construction that the artist covers in numerous knots and stitches, producing textured iterations that replicate on consumerism and the lasting influence of overconsumption.
