Wearing otherworldly mild and a jewel-toned palette, Alfie Caine’s dreamscapes place home structure in idealized environment of manicured neighborhoods, nation gardens and luxurious forests. The East Sussex-based artist attracts on his formal coaching in structure to render homes and their environment in vivid hues, enjoying with perspective and the connection between mild and shadow in a play of inside and exterior.
In Caine’s vignettes of home life, clues to the inhabitants are present in particulars akin to a potted plant leaning in opposition to an open door, a pet ready for consideration, or a glimpse of a determine within the nook, nearly out of sight. The precision of linear perspective and daring contrasts meet the surreal, natural shapes of slim flora and streams of chimney smoke in scenes that emphasize the small pleasures of on a regular basis life, akin to taking a scorching tub, enjoying the guitar or mild a candle.
