SILVER STRIPE: Anthony Vaccarello stacked Saint Laurent’s newest males’s marketing campaign with legendary filmmakers, all of whom are over the official retirement age.
Silver hair — spiky by Jim Jarmusch and Pedro Almodóvar, slicked again by David Cronenberg, and tousled by Abel Ferrera — and a terrific perspective are the primary takeaways from photographer David Sims’ black-and-white photographs.
Almodóvar, who wears flashy sun shades and even a fur coat, already has ties to Saint Laurent. Final June, the French home stated it could produce a 30-minute movie in English by the Spanish creator.
The western will star Ethan Hawke and Pedro Pascal and can start filming in August, with an anticipated premiere at a movie pageant but to be decided in 2023. All of the characters shall be wearing Saint Laurent clothes and niknaks designed by Vaccarello, as reported. .
Vaccarello has made bespoke movies a key function of his tenure, with Saint Laurent producing the movies in addition to storing them. They’re a part of his Self undertaking which launched in 2018 and is supposed to be a creative commentary seen by the lens of Saint Laurent.
Earlier iterations have included signed movies and pictures by creator Bret Easton Ellis, efficiency artist Vanessa Beecroft, photographer Daido Moriyama, movie director Gaspar Noé, in addition to a chapter curated by Hong Kong’s Wong Kar-Wai and directed by Wingshya. The Noé movie debuted on the Cannes Movie Competition in 2019.
