(ANSA) – ROME, JANUARY four – The 2 teenage stars of Romeo and Juliet, by the late Italian director Franco Zeffirelli, have sued Paramount Photos saying they had been victims of kid sexual exploitation attributable to love scenes within the 1968 hit movie .
Olivia Hussey and Leonard Withing, who had been 15 and 16 respectively when the director filmed the scenes, are actually 70-year-old grandparents.
They’re in search of half a billion dollars in damages.
The variation of Shakespeare’s play was one of many greatest successes in Zeffirelli’s profession, who died in 2019 on the age of 96.
Hussey and Wilding each received Golden Globes for his or her performances as star-crossed lovers.
