GREENVILLE, NC — Zhuric Phelps scored 17 factors as SMU beat East Carolina 75-64 on Saturday evening.
Phelps added three steals for the Mustangs (11-5, 2-1 American Athletic Convention). Chuck Harris scored 14 factors and added eight assists. Jalen Smith had 10 factors.
Ezra Ausar completed with 25 factors, eight rebounds, two steals and two blocks for the Pirates (9-Eight, 2-2). RJ Felton added 15 factors, six rebounds and two steals for East Carolina and Cam Hayes had 12 factors.
SMU took the lead with 18:05 left within the first half and did not relinquish it. Phelps led the group in scoring with eight factors within the first half to assist put them up 37-28 at halftime. SMU outscored East Carolina within the second half by two factors, with Harris scoring 10 factors after halftime.
