WASHINGTON (AP) — A bunch of Home Republicans has launched laws to rename Washington Dulles Worldwide Airport in Virginia after former President Donald Trump.
The invoice filed Friday is sponsored by Rep. Man Reschenthaler, R-Pa., the chief deputy majority chief, and co-sponsored by six different Republicans: Rep. Michael Waltz of Florida; Andrew Ogles of Tennessee; Chuck Fleischman of Tennessee; Paul Gosar of Arizona; Barry Moore of Alabama; and Troy Nehls from Texas.
The measure says it will “designate Washington Dulles Worldwide Airport in Virginia as 'Donald J. Trump Worldwide Airport.'
It was referred to the Home Transportation and Infrastructure Committee for additional consideration.
“Freedom. Prosperity. Power. “America stood for this underneath the management of President Donald J. Trump – the perfect president of my life,” Reschenthaler wrote on Tuesday in a post on X. “And that’s why I’m introducing laws to rename Dulles the Donald J. Trump Worldwide Airport.”
Some Home Democrats expressed disbelief over the renaming of the airport, situated 26 miles west of downtown Washington, D.C
