DELHI – Bushel will host Catskill Mountain Shakespeare throughout its spring 2024 tour of Shakespeare's iconic play “The Tempest.” The efficiency will happen at 7:30 pm on Thursday, April 25 at Bushel at 106 Important St. in Delhi.
Based on a press launch, “The Tempest” begins with a sea storm and a shipwreck. The play follows the struggles and successes of Prospero and his teenage daughter Miranda, who dwell on an remoted island with an elf named Ariel and a creature named Caliban. Previous enemies and household rivals reunite and should face the reality of the previous, younger love blossoms and clowns go loopy.
The actors will play a number of characters and embody the maelstrom of parts, changing into vessels for the island's spirits.
Director Jay Dunn brings his mix of ensemble motion, bodily comedy, cinematic theatrics and clowning to reinvent the timeless story into an immersive and enchanting expertise.
