International Students at UW-Madison Reinstated after Visa Crisis

By Editor • April 29, 2025 • 1 min read

All 27 international students and alumni impacted by visa terminations at the University of Wisconsin-Madison have regained their active status, the university confirmed on Monday.

Chancellor Jennifer Mnookin expressed relief over the reversal, stating, "This situation was deeply troubling, upended lives, and created both fear and harm." The university's International Student Services is providing ongoing support to those affected.

While some visa revocations were reversed, a spokesperson noted that the situation remains fluid, with earlier reports indicating that 16 students at other campuses also faced similar challenges.
