Ninho: A New Vision for Urban Living at Casacor São Paulo 2025

At Casacor São Paulo 2025, the innovative installation Ninho by Atelier Marko Brajovic invites visitors to rethink urban life through the lens of nature. Nestled in Parque da Água Branca, this unique structure blends architecture, art, and ecological awareness, crafted from 360 pieces of reforested pine and 40 recycled plastic panels.
Ninho features soft, egg-shaped sofas that encourage guests to relax, observe the natural surroundings, and contemplate the coexistence of humans and wildlife. Inspired by the ingenious building techniques of birds and insects, this prototype challenges conventional design norms, urging us to imagine cities as habitats for all species.
The accompanying Animal Architects Exhibition explores the remarkable construction skills of non-human builders, highlighting intricate designs made from natural and urban materials. It includes three sections: the first showcases animal architectures, the second highlights human designs inspired by nature, and the third envisions a future where urban spaces are shared with various life forms.
Architects Teresa Lima, Priscila Sati, and Ailton Wenceslau lead this project, which emphasizes that true construction arises from intention rather than just technology. The landscape surrounding Ninho, designed by Ana Kamitsuji, further enhances the site, creating micro-habitats for pollinators and wildlife.
