Anthropic Unveils New Standard to Empower AI Control over Physical Devices

Anthropic is set to revolutionize the realm of agentic AI with its innovative Model Hardware Standard (MHS), enabling AI systems to interact with physical devices seamlessly.

The MHS, currently in a research preview phase, aims to streamline the often cumbersome process of integrating various components in scientific experiments. According to Anthropic, this standardized system allows devices to communicate over a network without requiring complex custom software.

Technical staffer Alek Kemeny highlighted the inspiration behind MHS, drawn from neuroscientist Arco Bast's work on memory formation at the HHMI Janelia Research Campus. Kemeny envisions a future where AI could autonomously manage any scientific experiment globally.
