Apple TV 4K Launching with Conversational Siri on September 9

Apple is set to unveil its new Apple TV 4K on September 9, featuring a groundbreaking Siri that allows for natural conversation. This enhanced Siri operates on a custom Google Gemini AI model with a staggering 1.2 trillion parameters, significantly surpassing Apple's existing models.

Expected to roll out alongside tvOS 27 around September 14, the new device comes after four years of waiting since the last update. The current model, which has been available since November 2022, uses an A15 Bionic chip but faced a price hike in June due to a memory chip shortage, raising costs by 54%. The upcoming model is rumored to be powered by an A17 Pro chip, boasting 8GB of RAM and advanced wireless capabilities.

One notable aspect is the redesigned remote, known as ATVRemote1,5, which is anticipated to incorporate features like a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip for easier locating. Historically, the remote has been a point of contention due to its confusing design, but this latest version aims to improve user experience.

As Siri evolves with a focus on conversational abilities, the reliance on the remote may diminish, allowing users to control their viewing experience with simple voice commands. This shift could redefine the purpose of the remote, making it more of a backup option than an essential tool.
