Arc'teryx Launches 'System 0' to Revolutionize Product Lifecycle and Sustainability

By Editor • August 28, 2026 • 1 min read

Arc'teryx Equipment is making a significant leap towards sustainability with the introduction of its innovative framework, 'System 0.' This approach redefines the traditional methods of product design and manufacturing by incorporating circular principles that cover the entire lifecycle of its products.

The inaugural offering under this initiative is the Sperro SV jacket, a multisport hardshell crafted with durability, repairability, and disassembly in mind, aimed at overcoming the challenges of circular design. Constructed from Gore-Tex Pro Fabric, it also features an ePE membrane, meeting the rigorous standards of waterproofing, windproofing, and breathability.

Available from September 4, the Sperro SV jacket is not only designed for high performance but also emphasizes recyclability, partnering with Aquafil to use Econyl regenerated nylon in its construction. Stuart Haselden, CEO of Arc'teryx, emphasized that System 0 represents a pivotal shift towards circularity, with a focus on creating products that can be used longer and eventually regenerated.

As the first product certified by Testex Circularity, the Sperro SV surpasses expectations and builds on Arc'teryx's established ecosystem of repair, trade-in, and resale programs. Chief Creative Officer Katie Becker noted that tackling the complex hardshell design is a significant step forward in the brand's mission to innovate sustainably.
