BBC's 'Tall Tales and Murder': A Darkly Comic Adventure Awaits

The BBC has unveiled a glimpse of its darkly comedic drama, "Tall Tales and Murder," created by Stuart Carolan, known for his work on "Love/Hate," and directed by Chris Addison of "Veep" fame. Set to air this fall, the six-part series promises a chaotic blend of crime and humor, weaving together an adventurous narrative filled with unconventional heroes.

At the center of the story is Bridget, portrayed by Ella-Lily Hyland, an unconventional Dublin nurse who moonlights as a storyteller and occasional euthanizer. Her life takes a wild turn when Paul, played by Casey Walsh in his debut role, enters her world, seeking redemption from a crime boss.

Things escalate when a mysterious comatose patient, revealed to be gangster Grinner McNair, awakens with secrets of buried treasure. As Bridget and Paul navigate this newfound chaos, they find themselves pursued by the ruthless gangster Wesley Swanson, adding to the series’ tension and dark comedy. Filmed in Ireland, "Tall Tales and Murder" is inspired by the "Dublin Trilogy" by Caimh McDonnell and brings a quirky twist to the crime genre.
