Behind the Curtain: 'The Mad King' Stage Transformation Unveiled

A new video highlights the impressive transformation of the stage for "Game of Thrones: The Mad King" at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Set designer Chloe Lamford has crafted a unique environment, featuring a floor made from 5,291 oz of rubber crumb chippings, and a throne constructed from over 300 reused swords.
The set involved extensive engineering, including excavating two stories deep, using 1.58 miles of steel, and placing 5,000 handcrafted leaves on a tree, which also hides seven faces for keen observers.
Despite a delayed opening, the show is nearing sell-out status and is set to conclude on September 5, with hopes for a West End adaptation.
