During a recent interview, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent expressed confidence that Japan's government and the Bank of Japan (BOJ) will implement measures to bolster the yen. He indicated a strong possibility of an interest rate increase by the BOJ in September.
Bessent's comments followed his assertion that BOJ Governor Kazuo Ueda will take appropriate steps to address the yen's decline. "I have information that the market doesn’t have," he stated, emphasizing his belief in upcoming policy changes.
