Billy Porter to be Honored at Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation Gala

The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation is gearing up for its annual fundraiser, a Night of Compassion, set for September 17 at the Beverly Hills Hotel. This year’s spotlight will shine on Emmy-winning actor and activist Billy Porter, who will be presented with the prestigious Elizabeth Taylor Legacy Award.

Alongside Porter, Vanity Fair will receive the Elizabeth Taylor Commitment to End AIDS Award for its longstanding advocacy in HIV awareness, a mission highlighted by its iconic 1992 cover featuring Taylor with a condom. CNN's Laura Coates will host the event, which will feature a performance by singer Deborah Cox.

ETAF's executive director, Catherine Brown, expressed pride in honoring both Porter and Vanity Fair, emphasizing their significant roles in raising awareness and support for communities affected by HIV and AIDS. Porter, who has openly discussed his HIV status, continues to inspire with his work in theater and advocacy.
