The FDA has greenlit Rasonque, a pioneering drug developed by Revolution Medicines for advanced pancreatic cancer, marking a significant advancement in treatment options.
Rasonque, known scientifically as daraxonrasib, targets the genetic underpinnings of this aggressive cancer. Clinical trials demonstrated that patients receiving Rasonque as a second-line therapy experienced a median survival of 13.2 months, surpassing the 6.7 months seen with traditional chemotherapy.
Dr. Andrew Ko from UCSF heralded this as a transformative moment in pancreatic cancer treatment.
