Cats Stay Focused Amid Concussion Issues Ahead of Elimination Final

As Geelong prepares for an intense elimination final against Carlton at the MCG, midfielder Tom Atkins insists that the team's focus remains unwavering despite recent controversy surrounding concussion protocols.
The Cats recently faced a $140,000 penalty from the AFL for not disclosing a concussion waiver in Jake Kolodjashnij's contract, a situation that has not seemed to affect the players' mindset. Atkins stated, “Our focus has been performing on the weekends,” emphasizing that the team is primarily concerned with supporting Kolodjashnij, who has been sidelined since the issue surfaced.
Kolodjashnij, who has been welcomed back to the club, is a source of positivity as the finals approach. Atkins remarked, “Just having him in the rooms and seeing him smiling again is good,” reflecting the camaraderie among teammates.
