China Denounces US Tariff Claims Amid Mexico's New Restrictions

In a strong rebuttal, China has dismissed a recent White House report alleging that Chinese exporters are evading US tariffs by funneling goods through Mexico and other nations. This response came just hours after news broke that Mexico is planning to impose additional restrictions on Chinese products.

He Yadong, spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Commerce, addressed the issue during a press briefing in Beijing, asserting that the report misrepresented the situation. He described it as a "false narrative" that overlooks the realities of international trade and unfairly labels legitimate business practices as deceitful.

He emphasized that the allegations do not reflect the truth, characterizing the US claims as a misguided interpretation of standard trade activities.
