Crumbl Cookies' 2026 Flops: A Taste Test Gone Wrong

By Editor • August 22, 2026 • 3 min read

Crumbl Cookies, known for its adventurous flavor releases, has once again stirred up a whirlwind of reactions with its latest offerings. Each week, the cookie chain introduces four new flavors, totaling a staggering 208 for the year. However, among these culinary experiments, not all have been met with enthusiasm. In fact, several recent creations have left consumers feeling disappointed, and they are vocal about it.

The Flamin' Lime Crunch Cookie, one of the more daring flavors, was launched during Crumbl's Road Trip Week. This cookie features a lime-flavored base rolled in a spicy cheese crisp mixture, topped with cream cheese frosting and actual cheese crisps. Despite the innovative idea, the reception was far from favorable, with many taste testers capturing their grimaces on social media. It garnered only three stars from over 4,000 reviews on the Crumbl app, with one user humorously comparing the experience to eating a stale Cheeto found in an old car. Another TikTok user declared, "I’m going to throw up" after tasting it.

Next on the list of disappointments is the Tangy Mango Cookie featuring Tajín, which debuted during the chain's Soccer Cookies promotion. This sugary treat, infused with mango and coated in Tajín seasoning, also missed the mark, receiving just under three stars from nearly 4,000 reviewers. Critics lamented its overpoweringly sour and salty taste, with one Reddit user lamenting, "Even my boyfriend who loves sour desserts hated it." The cookie's wet texture and artificial flavoring also drew criticism, proving that not all flavor combinations are a hit.

Another notable flop was the Almost Everything Bagel Sandwich Cookie, released as part of an April Fool's Day joke. This creation consists of two cookies sprinkled with everything bagel seasoning and filled with cream cheese icing. Although it holds just under four stars, many on Reddit found it too salty or too sweet, leading to a mixed reception. One user expressed disgust, saying they had to spit it out after one bite, while others echoed their sentiments of disappointment.

The Peach Ring Cookie, a returning item from 2022, promised a peach-flavored delight but fell flat when consumers bit into it. Rolled in sour sugar and topped with mousse icing and a gummy peach ring, it held a four-star rating but still received negative feedback regarding its faint flavor and artificial aftertaste. Influencers and customers alike voiced their distaste, with one commenting, "That is a whole bunch of nope. That’s a one."

Lastly, the Fair Desserts lineup brought back a cotton candy-flavored cookie that was supposed to be a nostalgic treat. However, this too faced backlash, as many felt it tasted overwhelmingly like plain vanilla sugar cookie instead. With over 21,000 reviews, it sits at just over three stars, indicating widespread dissatisfaction. One TikTok user lamented the lack of actual cotton candy flavor, calling it "mid" and disappointing.

With each new release, Crumbl aims to push the boundaries of cookie flavors, but these recent flops illustrate that not every bold idea translates to success. As they continue to innovate, fans hope the chain can find the right balance between adventurous and appealing.
