Decline in Argentine Travel Abroad as Inbound Tourism Grows

In a notable shift in travel patterns, Argentine residents venturing abroad in July plummeted by 21.2% from the previous year, totaling 1.22 million. This decline aligns with a growing trend observed in recent months, where outbound tourism has consistently decreased.

Conversely, Argentina welcomed 830,200 foreign visitors, marking a 17.9% increase, largely attributed to a surge in same-day travelers. Tourists accounted for 466,200 of these visitors, while same-day visitors soared by 31.5% to 363,900.

Brazil remains a significant player, contributing 22% of outbound travel, while 36.1% of incoming tourists hailed from Brazil. Despite the rise in tourism, Argentina's balance remains unfavorable, with 398,000 more residents departing than visitors arriving, resulting in a deficit of 3.49 million travelers in the first half of the year.
