Discovering the Allure of the Red Chalet on the Algarve Coast

After a sweltering summer in London, the allure of the Algarve's coastal breeze and the grandeur of the Red Chalet was too tempting to resist. I quickly booked a flight to Portugal for a long weekend, excited to share the experience with family members who hadn't traveled abroad in years.
Upon our arrival in June, we were welcomed by the vibrant orange groves and blooming bougainvillea surrounding the villa, which instantly lifted our spirits. The Red Chalet, perched elegantly above the ocean, is conveniently located near the bustling Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes church square, where locals enjoy coffee in the warm sun.
Greeted by weathered stone lions at the entrance, the villa's charm is enhanced by its blend of historic architecture and modern renovations. Our concierge, familiar with hosting high-profile guests, gave us a warm welcome and a tour of our stunning accommodations.
The property features a large terrace, a beach house with additional bedrooms, and amenities including a sauna and a small pool complete with loungers. Inside, the stylish decor showcases plush velvet sofas and a kitchen adorned with herbs, perfect for family meals while overlooking the scenic palms.
Upstairs, we found two elegantly appointed bedrooms, each with luxurious en suite bathrooms, and a shared living area that opens to a balcony with breathtaking sea views. Unique decor elements, including octopus lamps and vintage chests, add character to the home, and a karaoke machine promises fun for all.
Exploring the nearby promenade, we indulged in delicious gelato from N’Ice Cream and savored local cuisine prepared by a private chef. As we enjoyed fresh oysters and the coastal delicacy Arroz de Marisco, the swallows fluttered above, reminding us of the beauty and joy that the Red Chalet brings to families.
