Studio Khoa Vu, a burgeoning architectural practice operating between the U.S. and Vietnam, has made its mark in the Wallpaper* Architects’ Directory 2026, highlighting its innovative approach to architecture.

Founded by Khoa Vu in 2023, the studio focuses on creating spaces that intertwine structure, atmosphere, and environment. With a strong emphasis on cultural heritage and climate-responsive design, the studio's work reflects its commitment to blending contemporary practices with traditional influences.

One of their standout projects, Lunar Cavern, showcases this philosophy beautifully. Located in Ho Chi Minh City, this 150-square-meter duplex residence draws inspiration from the moon and its cycles. The design features smooth, curved plastered walls that evoke a cave-like ambiance, creating a unique living experience.

The ground floor embodies the moon’s bright side, with open, light-filled spaces that encourage dynamic movement and interaction. In contrast, the upper level reflects the moon's darker aspect, housing a Venetian-red studio that fosters creativity in a serene environment. Here, carefully crafted openings allow for a play of light and shadow, enhancing the intimate atmosphere.
