Fuel Prices Adjusted: Petrol Down by Rs0.58, Diesel by Rs0.17

By Editor • August 28, 2026 • 1 min read

In a recent announcement, the government has adjusted fuel prices, reducing petrol by Rs0.58 per litre and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs0.17 per litre. As of August 29, petrol will now cost Rs342.02 per litre, while HSD will be priced at Rs371.44 per litre.

This adjustment comes after a notable decline in HSD prices, which reached a peak of Rs520.35 on April 3. Conversely, petrol prices soared to Rs458.41 during the same period. These fluctuations have been attributed to rising international tensions, particularly following the US-Iran conflict that began in late February.

Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik has indicated that fuel prices will now be revised daily, reflecting changes in the international market. This decision aims to address the impact of fuel costs on the public, especially among lower-income groups relying on these essential commodities.
