Fury Doubts Joshua Fight Amidst Contractual Disputes

Tyson Fury has expressed skepticism regarding the much-anticipated fight against Anthony Joshua, suggesting that it "doesn't look like it's going to happen." Fury's comments, made through a series of social media posts, highlight ongoing disagreements between both fighters and their promoters.
Initially slated for November, the matchup has faced complications primarily due to disputes over the venue. While Joshua and his promoter Eddie Hearn are determined to keep the fight in the UK, Saudi organizers are advocating for a shift to the United States, potentially at Madison Square Garden, which they believe would better cater to American audiences.
Fury didn't hold back in his criticism of Hearn, accusing him of prioritizing financial gains over the bout's success. He stated, "Doesn't look like they're going to sign the fight and it doesn't look like it's going to happen all because Eddie Hearn and that want more money." The heavyweight champion further labeled Joshua and Hearn as "disgusting" and "money-thirsty," asserting that their actions are cowardly.
Eddie Hearn responded on IFL TV, noting that a list of necessary changes for the American venue has been sent to the Saudi organizers. A key issue is compensation for Joshua, who would earn less fighting in the U.S. than in the UK due to differing tax implications. Hearn emphasized that this financial aspect is crucial for Joshua, who has a history of significant victories in his home country.
In addition to compensation, Hearn mentioned that the list included practical matters like travel and media arrangements, which have yet to receive feedback from Sela, the Saudi organization involved. Hearn also clarified that other financial disputes related to past events were separate from the Joshua-Fury negotiations.
The situation has become more complicated with the introduction of Zuffa Boxing, led by Dana White, which is seeking to make its mark in the boxing world. Fury seemed to welcome White's involvement, stating, "If White wants to be involved, he can come on my side." Despite the ongoing negotiations and tensions, Fury remains determined to move forward, stating, "I'll fight somebody else but just know you never had the guts to fight Tyson Fury, ever, you little coward."
