Gunther Werks Unveils the GXR-Evo: A Racing-Inspired Porsche 911

Gunther Werks has pushed the boundaries of the classic Porsche 911 with its latest creation, the GXR-Evo, showcased during Monterey Car Week. This model, limited to just 15 units, is the company's fastest naturally aspirated vehicle to date, boasting a striking design that retains the recognizable 993 silhouette while introducing significant aerodynamic enhancements.
One notable modification is the removal of the rear window, replaced by an integrated shark fin that alters the rear profile dramatically. Crafted entirely from carbon fiber, the GXR-Evo weighs a mere 2,386 pounds, shedding 210 pounds compared to its Coupe counterpart. The body features a deeper front splitter and air channels cut into the fenders to optimize airflow, while a substantial rear wing enhances downforce.
At the heart of the GXR-Evo lies a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine, developed in collaboration with Rothsport Racing, producing 455 horsepower and capable of revving close to 9,000 rpm. This power is delivered through a six-speed manual gearbox, emphasizing a driving experience that merges traditional mechanics with modern racing dynamics.
The interior reflects a pure racing ethos, with a carbon-Kevlar seat, an eight-point roll cage, and a high-tech Motec display. Additionally, a custom racing simulator crafted by MYSIM will accompany each owner, allowing them to familiarize themselves with their unique vehicle's dynamics.
